About Shaza

I want to teach because I know how rewarding it is to see your hard work pay off. During my time studying NCEA English, I achieved Excellence in all of my Level 2 and Level 3 written internals, and I developed a strong understanding of the skills needed to succeed in essay writing, text analysis, and creative writing.

English can feel overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to understanding assessment requirements and expressing ideas clearly. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities and discover that they are capable of achieving more than they initially thought. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them become stronger, more independent writers.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is personalised, supportive, and focused on helping students build both confidence and strong academic skills. As someone who recently completed NCEA English (graduated 2025) and achieved Excellence in all Level 2 and Level 3 written internals, I understand exactly what assessors are looking for and can provide up-to-date guidance on NCEA requirements.

Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and goals, whether they are aiming to improve their essay structure, strengthen their analysis of texts, develop creative writing skills, or work towards Merit and Excellence grades. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, provide clear examples, and give constructive feedback to help students continuously improve.

A typical lesson may include reviewing classwork, practising writing techniques, analysing exemplar responses, planning assessments, and working through areas where the student lacks confidence. I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate so they can develop independent skills that will benefit them both in English and beyond.

My lessons are primarily aimed at NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3 English students, though I am also happy to help younger students develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills. Whether a student is struggling with English or striving for Excellence, I aim to create a positive learning environment where they can achieve their goals.
