About Raka
I have completed Sangeet Prabhakar Bharatnatyam exam from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. I was a Bharatnatyam student of Dr. Yamini Krishnamurthy. She was a recipient of the Padma Shri (1968), Padma Bhushan (2001), Padma Vibhushan (2016) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1977). Prior to her, I also learnt from Guru Radha Mohanan. I did my Bharatnatyam Arengetram in 2004. I have given many stage performances as well.

Beginner Bharatnatyam class. Classes would typically cover basic steps (adavus), hand gestures (mudras), footwork, and expressions (abhinaya), often including warm-up exercises and learning short dance pieces. Students will also learn about the history, spiritual connection, and rhythmic patterns (tala) inherent in Bharatanatyam.
