About Joseph

It’s really quite simple. I believe, with all my heart, that everyone—no matter your race or background—should learn Chinese. Speaking Chinese isn’t just wonderful or magical; it’s fast becoming an essential skill. But here’s what I truly care about: standard pronunciation. To learn Chinese is to learn its clearest, most accurate sounds. Yes, the Chinese language level in Malaysia is generally very good, but to be honest, our pronunciation often leaves native speakers struggling to understand. I’ve lived in Taiwan for many years, yet even as a child in Malaysia, I was always serious about getting the tones right. In Taiwan, I even studied at CTS—華視電視台-the Chinese Television System—to master standard Mandarin pronunciation, that course was a key part of training for drama dubbing, where every tone and syllable must be perfectly clear. That’s the standard I believe in.. Now, I want to see our Malaysian Chinese children start speaking standardized Mandarin from the very beginning. We all need to make this a priority together. About the lesson

Hello! I'm a Malaysian Chinese in my early 50s. My life journey has been quite diverse: I lived in Taiwan from the age of 23 to 52, and I've also spent four years living in Europe. My professional and personal life is conducted in native-level Chinese and English. As an avid language enthusiast myself, I'm confident I can teach you well, whether you are a beginner or if you're looking to significantly upgrade your Mandarin skills in areas like: * Pronunciation and Tones * Vocal Delivery and Emotional Expression Management * Oral Communication and Fluency * Character Recognition * Taiwanese and Malaysian Culture... I'm particularly keen on mentoring motivated young people. For me, pronunciation is paramount—be it in Mandarin, English, or Malay—it’s the foundation of effective communication.
