About Sreemathi
I am a cardiac surgeon with 46 years of experience in performance, teaching and research in Cardio vascular and Thoracic Surgery.I was Professor and Head in the Department of Paediatric Cardiothoracic surgery, Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children at Chennai which is the largest Children's Hospital in India for 12 years.Remaining years were focused on adult, paediatrics and trauma in the Departments of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Madras Medical College and Government General Hospital , Chennai and Erskine Hospital and Madurai Medical College, Madurai, Tamilnadu, India

My teaching techniques have been based on patient examination diagnosis with investigations and management. Theoretical base is applied to each problem encountered in the patients. Surgical management, techniques and Intensive care management are also built with reference to patients. This practical approach I believe helps the students to confidently approach all problems.
