About Kavya

My name is Kavya, and I am a graphic designer with over 5 years of professional experience. I have worked across branding, visual identity, print, and digital design, and I enjoy helping others understand and apply design thinking in a clear and practical way. I value structure, clarity, and thoughtful design, and I bring the same approach to my teaching. I enjoy working with beginners and intermediate learners and supporting them as they build confidence and develop their own visual style. Outside of teaching, I continue to work on design projects and am building my start-up, which allows me to bring real-world experience into my lessons.

About the lesson

The lessons will focus on building strong design fundamentals first: layout, typography, colour, and visual hierarchy before moving into tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate. The concepts will be explained clearly and encourage learning through hands-on exercises and real examples rather than theory alone. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are structured but flexible. Depending on the learner, sessions may include guided exercises, design feedback, or step-by-step project work. I adapt the pace and content to suit beginners as well as intermediate learners. My lessons are suitable for: 1. Beginners exploring graphic design 2. Students and creatives building foundational skills 3. Career switchers or hobbyists 4. Anyone looking to improve visual thinking or portfolio work My aim is to help learners feel confident, understand why design decisions work, and develop skills they can apply independently.

Kavya is one you can rely on to get the job done. And get it done right. Despite our domains being vastly different, our paths have crossed professionally at least twice. She has supported my Start-up in our design and branding needs as well as provided complete brand strategy for a non-profit I used to volunteer for. I can assure you that she has the tenacity and the drive to complete the project in the given timelines. I highly recommend her for your design needs, as well as a mentor.
