English is a highly systematic language. Firstly, its phonetic system includes letters, phonemes, syllables, and other components. Letters are classified into vowel letters, consonant letters, and semi-vowel letters. Phonemes are divided into vowel phonemes and consonant phonemes. There are six types of syllables: open syllables, closed syllables, r-controlled syllables, re-controlled syllables, syllabic consonants, and letter combination pronunciations. Once you clarify this framework, you can quickly master the method for learning English words. English also boasts a comprehensive grammatical system, consisting of six types of notional words and four types of function words. After sorting out the morphological system, you will move on to the syntactic system. It is essential to clearly understand that English sentences include simple sentences, compound sentences, and complex sentences (complex sentences consist of nominal clauses, attributive clauses, and adverbial clauses). Clarifying these concepts will make your English quite proficient!
