About Lydia

I am a graduate student in applied statistics at Michigan State University with my bachelor’s from Duke University. I spent two years teaching before starting my PhD. While a PhD student, I have worked as an applied statistician on different research projects and have been a teaching assistant for the graduate level quantitative methods course. I have experience applying math and statistics, teaching, and coding in R studio, stata, spss, python, mplus as well as a knowledge of Latex.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is to guide you in learning how to learn and walk through the materials, learning the thought processes and skills to be able to solve problems on your own. Depending on the course, the lessons will include a series of additional practice to help you walk through various problems you may see in your class. In both math and statistics, this will include helping you to learn the software you will need for your class. I am able to tutor algebra through calc 4 and linear algebra as well as most college level statistics courses and graduate level quantitative methods courses.
