About Jem
My name is Jem, I'm a movement artist based in London working across contemporary and commercial spaces. Rooted in a mixed movement background, my work flows from the body as a primary medium. I began dancing with ballet, modern dance and gymnastics and then moved to London in 2014 to pursue professional training extending into contemporary dance and other commercial styles. Some of the companies I've worked with are Abramović Institute, Fabula Collective, James Cousins Company, Ockham's Razor, NUA Dance and also music artists Wolf Alice, AURORA, Charli XCX, Miley Cyrus, and choreographers Ryan Heffington, Holly Blakey, Blenard Azizaj, Liv Lockwood

About the lesson

Contemporary dance techniques including release, floor work, improvisation, choreography. We will cover warm up, fundamental technique exercises, phrase work, travelling and use of space, task-based creative work building each lesson. Typically, lessons go from 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on what's needed. Lessons are for anyone aged 11+
