About Leydis

Hello, my name is Leidys Diaz. I am a passionate music educator with a degree in Music Studies and over eight years of experience teaching piano and guitar to students of all ages. I currently work with a music therapy agency, where I support children with autism and other developmental differences through music. I also serve as a youth music leader at my church, where I continue to share the joy and discipline of music with my community. I believe music should be accessible, joyful, and tailored to each individual. As a teacher, I strive to create a calm and supportive space where students feel safe to learn, express themselves, and grow. Whether you are just starting or coming back to music after a long break, I will meet you where you are and help you progress step by step.

About the lesson

I teach piano and guitar with a student-centered approach, focusing on each individual's pace, interest, and learning style. My goal is not only to teach technical skills but also to help students enjoy music and feel confident expressing themselves through it. I emphasize strong fundamentals - such as posture, hand position, rhythm, and note reading, especially for beginners. I break down complex skills into manageable steps, building from basic exercises to songs. I use games, simple compositions, backing tracks, and familiar songs to keep students engaged. I adapt my methods depending on the student's age, goals, and needs. For example, with children, I may use more visual aids and play-based learning. Each lesson typically includes a mix of technique, theory, and creative expression (like improvisation or songwriting for those interested).
