About Sarah
I consider myself to have a kind and encouraging demeanor with my students. I have always enjoyed teaching young people and fostering in them a general appreciation for all things French - this is not difficult given that I am so passionate about everything to do with French myself. It is very gratifying to see a student understand something that they couldn't grasp at the start of the lesson and progress and improve. In addition to assistance with grammar, vocabulary and written expression, I can help students build confidence and ease in the speaking of the language, being fluent in the language myself since the age of 16. I would be delighted to help your student progress to their full potential.

My name is Sarah O’Beirne and I hold a 2.1 degree in French and Spanish from University College Dublin. I have 12 years experience as a French teacher, having taught in various secondary schools and given private grinds classes. I can offer assistance in any area in which students may be struggling – grammar, vocabulary, written expression, listening, oral etc. This summer, I worked as an Examiner for the Junior Certificate French Examinations. I corrected approximately 300 papers from students all over the country. This gave me invaluable insight into what is required to gain top marks in the paper and what examiners are looking for. I consider myself to have a warm and approachable presence, with a keen interest in young people and how to help them reach their full potential and simply achieve their best. I have lived in France throughout various periods of my life and speak the language fluently since the age of 16 so I can also offer help with pronunciation as well as fostering a general appreciation for francophone culture - music, films, etc. I would be delighted to assist your student.
