About Eriona

I am a graduate in BSc Psychology with Education at UCL. My true interests lie with helping children who are in need of guidance in their lives. I believe the best way to achieve this in any circumstance is through consistency, this forms a level of stability and a safe environment which allows children to develop confidence in their character from early on in life, allowing for a more smooth sailing future.

And a big part of a child/young adult’s early phase in life, is their education. If their education is proceeding well and posing little-to-no problems, one less stress in their life is reduced. Considering their education is what sets them up for life in a lot of cases, it is crucial to ensure positive stability throughout it. This can happen through the help of tutors, such as myself, by receiving external help to ensure the right and necessary grades are achieved to reduce any unwanted stress in academics. I personally also had tutors throughout my time in education, and I found it rather helpful to have someone to help me through things step-by-step, as it meant that I didn’t have many areas of confusion by making sure to have everything clarified for me by my tutors. This allowed my learning processes to proceed with much greater ease than when I was handling everything on my own. It is because of this, that I want to be of help in others’ educational journeys, the same way my tutors were for me.

About the lesson

I received three A’s in my completed A Levels: Psychology, Politics, and Sociology. Having to tackle three essay-based subjects was difficult, but not impossible, staying dedicated and efficient with my time is what helped. I would love to share my techniques with those who decide to choose me as their tutor, as I will introduce you to ways that allow you to have a greater balance on your academics alongside maintaining a social life. This in turn enables a less draining and time-consuming routine and instead effective.

I will mainly be providing sessions for Psychology A Level students (16-18 year olds) as this is where my expertise lies. However, I am open to also teaching Psychology GCSE and also English GCSE, or with 11+ student, considering my long-term experience with essay-based subjects, English has also always been one of my strong suits.

Sessions will typically last 90-120 minutes, this is to ensure topics are covered and allows time for quick tests at the end to help maintain recall of information. This will let your recall speed improve over time to the point where it becomes an innate response.

I am quite big on making essay plans. Essay plans are what get results. Essay plans allow you to get a clearer vision of all the knowledge you are required to acquire, alongside targeting what questions the knowledge you have learnt are applicable to. It is best to come up with variations of a question, and apply different facts and necessary information that can help answer the questions. These essay plans would start off more rich and in-depth, with time, once context is understood, the plans will reduce in density. The reason for this being that, once the context is established, excessive levels of information is no longer required, therefore, summarised versions of the original plan will enable memorising and recalling to occur more easily. Thus, preparing you for examination.
