I understand the technicalities of figurative drawing, portraiture etc. As well as unlocking drawing as a tool for thinking. My engagement with semantics means that I can negotiate critique when discussing the written word.

I would first encourage my student to free draw and free write as a means of freeing up potential ideas. If the student needed technical help with either the written element of their project or the drawing of a specific subject, I would lead by example while giving them the tools to formalise what they were thinking.
