About Flori
I am originally from Berlin, but have lived in the UK for 12 years now. I studied English literature at Cambridge, did a PhD, and am now a lecturer and researcher at the university.
I teach German, English, and French (having gone to a bilingual French school in Berlin).
My teaching in the past included starting at the basics, and revising with school kids, to polishing already fluent language abilities, exam preparation, and professional training in the medical, economic, and environmental sector.
I started teaching when I was a teenager myself, so that's many years ago now! I have plenty of experience in teaching a broad range of people with different requirements and wishes, ranging from children to groups of teenagers, university students, and professionals.

I tailor the lessons to the need and wishes of the student. I also always ask for feedback so that I can adapt as we go along.
Depending on the need, I love using current material such as podcasts, YouTube videos, comics, pieces from the news.
I always prepare deeply, and expect my students to do the same. I will send material in advance, and will send "homework" after the lesson, so that the student uses the lesson time in the best way possible.
That sounds a bit strict, perhaps, but we advance better when the student works him or herself, too. I am generally patient and understanding, and love getting to know my students as well.

Details
As a German native speaker and lecturer at university, you will have a maximum of academic input from me. I always prepare for an hour or two before lessons, and will also be available after the lessons.
I am happy to meet at my house or a library nearby. I can also travel to your place, and would ask for an extra of 10 pounds should this be the case.
