About Yifan

At A-level I studied maths, economics and geography allowing me the breadth and depth in quantitative and qualitative skills.
I have experience in teaching english to international students abroad for around 3 years who are mainly children of primary and secondary school ages. This gives me the patience and dedication to work with children from a range of ages.
Being a maths prefect at my school gives me the confidence and ability to understand and explain to younger years their problems and queries.

I now study data science modules at University level (UCL) where I achieved an average of 82%.

About the lesson

As a current student 6th former, I believe the style of teaching I provide will be familiar to students on the new specifications for GCSE. Currently I am undergoing studies in maths, economics and geography at A-level in one of the top grammar schools in the country which allows me both quantitative and qualitative skills in teaching. My main teachings will be in maths (Edexcel) which I have continued to embrace at University level. I have confidence that I will be able to inspire and motivate students from all backgrounds and at all levels to strive for their main aim in their academics and, to help achieve the grade they desire.

Near examination periods I will be providing advice and guidance on techniques used within the exams for a confident breeze through the stressful time.

My family was recommended Yifan by a friend a year ago. Since then, she has taught my little sister 11+, and it is clear that she has undergone heavy improvement in her maths and non-verbal skills. Yifan provides a style of teaching that is consistent and organised, such that every lesson is a robust progression from the last, building a strong knowledge base going into the 11+ exams. I certainly recommend her, as she teaches at a fantastic standard, with excellent patience, such that my sister always looks forward to her lessons.
