About Elyas
Hi, I'm Elyas Chaal, and I love maths - especially that amazing 'click' when something makes sense and the path to the answer becomes clear! My biggest goal as your tutor is to help you experience that moment, turning confusion into confidence. Achieving a Grade 9 at GCSE showed me it's possible with the right approach. I use a friendly yet structured method: we start with a quick diagnostic to find exactly where you need help (no wasting time!), then tackle those areas step-by-step with a focus on clear explanations and targeted practice. Seeing my younger sister leap ahead two years in maths using this approach proved its power! With my strong foundation (GCSE Maths 9, A-Level Maths B) and focus on building real understanding rather than pummelling a method into your head, I provide professional, online-only tutoring for GCSE students (Foundation/Higher) aiming for Grades 4-9. My approach starts with a diagnostic past paper to pinpoint your exact strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to create a personalised learning plan focused only on the areas you need to improve, saving valuable time. Lessons (typically 60 minutes) then target these specific gaps using clear explanations, tailored practice questions, and building confidence step-by-step. I have a proven track record of accelerating progress (e.g., helping a Year 7 student reach Year 9 level in 2 months) and specialise in making Algebra understandable. Qualified: GCSE Maths (Grade 9), A-Level Maths (Grade B). Comfortable with all major UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
