About Sian
I’ve always been passionate about English, but more importantly, I care about helping students feel capable and confident in a subject that often feels uncertain or subjective.
In the classroom, I see how much of a difference the right support can make — not just to grades, but to a student’s confidence and mindset. That’s what led me to offer tuition alongside my teaching role.
As an examiner, I also know that success in English isn’t about writing more — it’s about understanding what is being asked and how to respond clearly. I want to help students feel less overwhelmed and more in control of their learning, especially in the lead-up to exams.
For me, tutoring is about creating a supportive space where students can ask questions, develop their skills, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.

Hi, I’m Sian, a qualified secondary English teacher and GCSE examiner specialising in English Language and Literature.
I work with students in Years 10 and 11 to help them build confidence, improve their writing, and understand exactly what examiners are looking for.
As an examiner, I see first-hand where students lose marks — and more importantly, how they can gain them. My approach focuses on clear structure, exam technique, and targeted feedback so students know how to improve quickly.
I offer:
• Small group sessions (my main focus)
• 1:1 tuition (limited availability)
• Essay marking and detailed feedback
I have experience supporting students to:
Move from Grade 3–4 to a secure pass
Move from coasting at a grade to making significant progress
Improve confidence in essay writing
Feel prepared and less overwhelmed before exams
Lessons are online, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs.
