About Lauren
I graduated with a B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Denver in 2020, where I studied classical voice, music theory, and choral conducting. I was a member of the university's Chamber Choir all four years and performed as a lead vocalist in two student-produced musical theater productions. I have been teaching singing and music privately for 4 years, working with students from age 6 through adult. My students have gone on to land roles in school musicals, place in regional choir competitions, and — most importantly — fall in love with singing in a way they never expected. In 2023, one of my 8th-grade students performed an original song in her school talent show that we wrote together over six sessions — she won the whole competition. I completed an additional certification in Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) vocal technique in 2022, which has been especially useful for my pop, musical theater, and non-classical students. I am patient, encouraging, and 100% in your corner from the very first lesson.

Whether you have never sung a note in your life or you are getting ready for a big audition, I am here to make every lesson fun, relaxed, and genuinely useful. I teach singing in a way that feels natural — no scary drills, no pressure, just real progress at a pace that works for you. Every session starts with easy warm-ups: breathing exercises, humming, lip trills, and gentle sirens to get your voice feeling loose and ready. Then we move into the actual skills you want to build — pitch control, tone quality, vocal range, and performance expression. I always use songs you actually enjoy singing, because you learn faster when you are having a good time. Music reading is a big part of my lessons too — I show you how to follow sheet music, understand rhythm, and read basic notation so you can learn any song independently. For students who want to explore music theory, I break it down into simple, memorable pieces that connect directly to what you are singing. Songwriting sessions are some of my absolute favorites — we work on lyrics, melody, and structure together, and it is incredibly rewarding to watch a student perform an original song they created from scratch. For choir students, I help with sight-reading, part-singing, blend and balance, and audition preparation. I also teach beginner and intermediate piano alongside voice lessons for students who want a fuller musical foundation. I teach all styles — pop, classical, musical theater, country, R&B, jazz — online, one-on-one, at your pace. Every student deserves to feel good about their voice, and I will make sure you do.
