About Joanna
I have tutored young elementary school students in math and reading at Kumon and fellow high school students through multiple of my local organizations such as my honor societies. I have helped generate ideas for and proofread research papers, presentation scripts, college essays, book reviews, creative stories, and news articles. As an editor and writer for my local newspaper club I was also responsible for my own writing and that of my colleagues.

I take my time with each student from brainstorming, to writing the essay, and finally proofreading. I think that writers block is real and understand that having someone to bounce back ideas with can help you find the best version of what you want to present. I also understand that some students need more help than others and have different ways to aid students in generating ideas and putting out their best work. I try to understand the students’ interests and personality to allow them to connect and showcase them in their writing. I have found that this makes learning more enjoyable. I have experience in presenting and research as well. Overall, I tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in essay-writing and presentations.
