About Emma
I have been teaching middle years for 10 years, and I love the energy of that age group. I completed my Masters of Mathematics for Teachers through the University of Waterloo in 2020. My main goal as a math teacher is to inspire interest and curiosity of the material.

I teach through noticing patterns, problem solving, and real-world context. I search to enhance learning through rich conversations. Most of my teaching experience is in middle years - grades 7 and 8. A typical lesson plan includes seeing an example to discuss and draw interest to a topic, practice with that topic, and then real world context driven examples of problems to solve using that topic.
