About Theo
Hello, my name is Theo. I lived in Scotland for an Erasmus stay for a year. There I discovered expatriate life and practiced my English in many difficult situations. I have met hundreds of internationals from China, Asia, the United States, Canada and the whole European Union. The mix of accents and levels were very instructive and allowed me to open myself up to new cultures while perfecting my English. Another example is learning how to skydive and get the license for skydiving in English with Scottish instructors, the kind of activity that leaves no room for misinterpretation. I also travelled all over Europe during a hitchhiking road trip from Lyon to Italy, Austria to Poland, then Germany to the Netherlands and finally Belgium to meet again my Erasmus friends from Scotland. Fantastic people that English allowed me to meet and spend unforgettable moments with. During all these exchanges I discovered a passion for languages. And I am currently learning Dutch and Spanish, as well as practising English daily in Melbourne, my new home for more than a month now. At the moment, I teach 15 students per week by Skype and face-to-face in Melbourne, and I'm always looking for more people to share my passion for languages with.

I will give you direction and the help that you are looking for to speak English fluently. Learning to learn and especially learning while having fun are the foundations of my method. - Adaptation of communication: explanation in French for beginners. As soon as possible, in English only to ensure continuous immersion and therefore optimal results. - Vocabulary adapted according to the level of each one and minimal use of the translation - Content of the courses based on your interests - Explaining the grammar points during conversations in English - Tongue twisters to acquire a native accent (yes it is possible and it is accessible to any motivated person) - Become confident speaking in english by practising reading texts read aloud. Often my new students come with preconceived ideas; - I'm French so I can not be good in English - I'm too old - I'm French so I'm not good with accents - I'm too dumb - I'm not good at languages because I never had good grades - I do not have time - I can not travel abroad, I'm too scared to not be able to communicate .. - .... I admit it's a shared pleasure when my students discover their potential and finally say: - YES I can speak English fluently! - YES I feel capable and independent! - YES I like to learn and YES I know what to answer in class! - YES I'm proud of my accent! - YES, I finally trust myself! - YES I can watch movies without subtitles! - YES I think and dream in English! - YES, I can read what I want; the Lord of the Rings, philosophy, quantum physics books, any book in English! - YES I can travel and feel comfortable with locals, make friends in Australia, the UK, Brazil, China, and even the USA!
