About Joeavian
I am a freelance operatic baritone based in Houston, TX where I hold a private teaching studio and pursue my performing career. I received my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance (2023) and a Certificate of Music Performance in Voice (2024) from the University of Houston Moores School of Music/Moores Opera Center. There, I played a plethora of operatic roles in works by Mozart, Cipullo, Ravel, and Lehar, as well as participated in numerous recitals.
I’m also an alumnus of the Toronto Summer Music Festival’s Art of Song Emerging Artist Program and the Chautauqua Institution’s Opera Conservatory. In 2023, I was named a National Semi-Finalist in Opera Mississippi’s John Alexander National Vocal Competition.

Whether you’re a beginner who wants to learn how to sing or you're an experienced singer who wants to continue developing or polish their vocal technique, I’d be happy to help you achieve your goals!
As a classically trained singer, I believe in developing all parts of the human voice for optimal function, range, flexibility, and command over the instrument. I have experience teaching in various genres and am particularly skilled at developing female mixed registration (mixed voice/mix belt).
