About Fran
Hi there! I'm Fran!
I am a 23-year-old history graduate from Durham University, currently studying for my Master's degree.
I am local to Durham, and absolutely love where I live and would like to see all North-East young people do fabulously!
In my free time, I love cold water swimming, my favourite spot is King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth at sunrise. I also love reading, yoga, crocheting; and I've recently got a new love of growing my own flowers and arranging them.
I am a big music fan, my favourites are Joni Mitchell, Hozier and Taylor Swift! If you work better with music playing like me, we can do that! Let's find songs together that help us focus and regulate.
I would describe myself as a happy and fun person, I don't believe we learn much when we are bored and stressed. I'd love for us to be excited for our lessons and have a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

I specialise in History, however I also offer English (Literature and Language) and Politics tutoring. I would offer these sessions to both GCSE and A-Level students.
I also have two years' experience working with KS1/2, focusing upon literacy and numeracy improvement, as well as verbal and non-verbal reasoning, fine and gross motor skills.
I am enhanced DBS checked, fully adult and paediatric first-aid qualified, and trained with Autism awareness.
I approach all lessons by setting a comfortable and student-forward atmosphere. I like the student to feel accepted and seen, so that mistakes or struggles feel like small hurdles not huge leaps. I believe leading with a sense of fun, optimism and kindness is always the best approach!
I am more than happy to travel for at-home tutoring, or remote sessions.
