About Vincent

My judo journey started at the age of five with my father, and grew into a lifelong dedication to the sport. That passion eventually led me to compete on the international stage as a member of the Canadian national team, bringing over two decades of high-level experience to the mat.

I am an analytical person by nature. I want to understand the exact mechanics behind a technique rather than just blindly repeating what I was shown. I believe there is no single right way to execute a move—every technique has to be shaped to fit the individual, taking into account their body type, morphology, and personal preferences.

About the lesson

Whether you are preparing for your next belt grading, refining your core technique, or working on critical aspects often overlooked in regular classes—such as footwork, grips, and tactical awareness—I am here to help you progress. My coaching also welcomes practitioners from other martial arts backgrounds, such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), looking to adapt and sharpen their standing game, throws, and transitions.

From beginners taking their first steps on the tatami to experienced competitors and cross-training martial artists, my comprehensive approach ensures that every student builds confidence, precision, and mastery. Together, we will break down complex concepts into actionable steps so you can reach your full potential on and off the mat.

I took judo classes with Vincent this summer and really enjoyed learning from him. He’s patient, attentive, and gives clear, specific feedback on each throw, whether it’s improving your grips, breaking your opponent’s balance, or adjusting your footwork. His coaching helped me improve my footwork significantly and make great progress with seoi nage and tomoe nage. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their judo!
