About Ngosa

I am a senior lecturer in forensic psychology with a PhD in psychology and a BPS-accredited undergraduate and Master’s degree in forensic psychology. My passion lies in helping students develop a deep understanding of psychology, refine their academic writing and research skills, and build confidence in their abilities. My expertise spans Investigative, Forensic and Criminal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, and Psychological Research Methods, particularly within the Criminal Justice System. As a mixed-methods researcher, I specialise in quantitative and qualitative analysis, guiding students through SPSS, qualitative coding, research design, and statistical interpretation. With experience teaching at Bath Spa University, the University of Gloucestershire, and De Montfort University Leicester, I have worked with Undergraduate and Master’s level students from diverse backgrounds. I understand that each student has unique learning needs, and I tailor my approach to ensure they receive personalised and effective support. I take a calm, supportive, and structured approach to tutoring, ensuring students grasp key concepts and develop the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for academic success at their own pace. About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centred, adaptable, and designed to build confidence in both theoretical and applied aspects of psychology. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching methods to meet individual needs, whether that involves breaking down complex theories, guiding students through statistical analysis, or refining academic writing skills. Techniques and Teaching Methodology: • I employ a structured yet flexible approach, ensuring that lessons align with students' academic goals. • Sessions may include interactive discussions, step-by-step problem-solving, critical analysis exercises, and hands-on data analysis (SPSS, qualitative coding, etc.). • I provide practical examples, case studies, and real-world applications to enhance understanding. • I encourage students to ask questions and actively engage in learning rather than passively absorb information. Lesson Duration and Format: • Typical lesson length: 1 hour (longer sessions available upon request). • Format: Online or in-person (based in Bristol). • I offer one-to-one sessions. Qualifications & Experience: • PhD in Psychology with expertise in Forensic, Criminal, and Social Psychology. • University-level lecturer in forensic psychology, with experience teaching undergraduates at Bath Spa University, the University of Gloucestershire, and De Montfort University Leicester, as well as postgraduates at the University of Gloucestershire. • Extensive experience supervising dissertations, teaching research methods, and marking academic work, providing insight into what universities expect from students. • Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research methods, academic writing, and exam preparation.
