About Astrid
My musical journey started early, coming from a music loving family and starting flute lessons at 6 years old with the Suzuki Method. I've now got a Bachelor's degree in flute performance from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden and I am graduating this year from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Master's degree in flute performance.

I approach my students calmly and pedagogically. I think it's important to include both music reading and ear training from the beginning. Coming from a Suzuki background myself, I know how beneficial it can be to play from memory, as well as developing your music reading skills to be able to play in ensembles and orchestras. I focus on developping both skills with my students, to prepare them for whatever musical path they may choose for themselves later on.
On a higher level, I teach both flute and piccolo with the goal to make my students express themselves through music, by working on both technical and musical aspects of playing the instruments.
Overall, regardless of level, I always want my students to enjoy their lessons and their practise, so I listen to their interests as well as I care about what their needs are, when composing a plan to develop their flute playing skills.

I’ve known and played with Astrid for several years now. From my experience, Astrid is an excellent flautist and teacher who always care for her students to improve not only as flautists, but as musicians as well. Astrid sees to each individual student and to their playing to find what the student would benefit from in order to move to the next level in their playing.
