On top of her studies she continues her teaching career at the Musikschule Rhein-Ruhr. She has been the recipient of various scholarships and awards including the Anne Bellam Scholarship, George Turner Wilson Music Trust Senior Award, Senior Scholar Award in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries, Les and Sonia Andrews Woodwind Prize, Pultron Composites Award, and several first -in-course awards from the University of Auckland. About the lesson

As a multi-instrumentalist, I believe it is important that the students develop not only technical skills on their instruments, but approach music creatively. In my lessons I like to compare our music to the elements of nature around us as I believe it's fundamentally something we can all relate to. It is always fantastic when the students also feel comfortable to connect to the music in their own way. Very frequently we will have little games and tricks here and there to strengthen specific skills and techniques.
