About Camille

Hello!

My name is Camille and I live in Groningen, a beautiful little town in the north of the Netherlands. I am studying the science of teaching, specializing in math and science, my passion!
I grew up in Luxembourg, in a highly multilingual environment, which means that I am fluent in French, German, English and Luxembourgish (and yes it is a real language ;)
Of an emphatic nature, I adapt myself as well as possible to the needs of my students and am always listening to them. But above all, I am very energetic! I do a lot of sports and lots of activities like painting, piano and baking :) During my lessons, I am highly motivated and do my best to transmit this energy and this thirst for learning to my students.

About the lesson

My lessons are for:
- middle and high school students
- math
- science (biology, chemistry, physics)
- German
- English

As a student teacher, I base my classes and my teaching style on modern and innovative methods. Indeed, more than just listening to my students, I offer explanations specifically adapted to their needs and stimulating challenging exercises.
No long worksheets or vocabulary lists to memorize with me! I offer courses that differ from traditional methods and inspires myself from new and alternative theories.

Course of a typical course:

- Discussion of homework or preparation (rarely homework; I prefer quality over quantity - "problem-solving" exercises may be given to do outside of class, but no repetitive practice exercises which you can find everywhere on internet)

- the student can bring elements (misunderstood questions from school, misunderstandings...) and we then work on it. (preferably sent before class)

- lecture: explanation of the materials (subject chosen by the student or recommended according to the difficulties observed)

- putting into practice: appropriate deepening exercises, fun activities to enrich the student's knowledge and help him/her gain autonomy.

- conclusion: recap of the lesson where the student shares and explains with his/her words what he/she has learned during the lesson.
