About Junaid

I'm Junaid, a Computer Science graduate with First Class Honours from Cardiff University (2026). Maths runs through everything I've done, from the algebra and probability underpinning my degree to my final-year project building AI systems, so I use these skills daily rather than remembering them from years ago.

Alongside tutoring I work in luxury retail for a major Swiss brand, where my whole job is explaining technical things clearly and patiently to people from every background. I bring exactly that to teaching: calm, friendly, and happy to explain something three different ways until it clicks. Outside work I'm a keen hiker and photographer, and I'm based in Wales.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Junaid, a Computer Science graduate with First Class Honours from Cardiff University (2026). I offer online one-to-one GCSE Maths tutoring (Foundation and Higher) across AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.

My degree was built on maths, from algebra and graphs to probability and problem-solving, and my final year involved the mathematics behind AI systems, so I use these skills daily. Just as importantly, I sat these exams recently enough to remember what it's like to find a topic confusing, and my approach comes from that: no lecturing, no rushing, just working through problems together until they genuinely click.

Lessons are exam-focused. We work from your exam board's specification and spend most of our time on real past paper questions, marked against the actual mark schemes, because understanding the maths and knowing how to earn the marks are two different skills. Weak areas get found and fixed methodically, whether that's algebra, ratio, geometry or the wordy problem-solving questions that trip most students up. You'll leave every session with a few targeted questions to practise before the next one.

The first lesson is free: we'll figure out where you are, your target grade, and which topics need the most work, so you can see if my style suits you before committing to anything.
