About Maya

I’m currently completing my DPhil (PhD) in Political Theory at the University of Oxford. Previously, I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a distinction in Human, Social and Political Sciences (HSPS), specialising in Political Philosophy, Sociology and IR. I achieved a mark of 84 on my dissertation, for which I received the John Dunn prize in the Politics and International Studies department. I then completed a Masters (MPhil) in Political and Economic Sociology at Cambridge and was awarded a distinction.

I believe that thinking out-loud and learning through critical dialogue can help students fully realise their potential. I have been teaching for 4 years now and have developed a methodology for adapting the Oxbridge tutorial style system to different ages and learning styles.

I have been a panellist at several University of Oxford and Cambridge symposia in Intellectual History, Political Theory and Sociology, as well as at the Cambridge Judge Business School. I am fluent in English, French and Arabic.

About the lesson

My lessons are modelled on Oxford and Cambridge tutorial-style teaching. I encourage critical thinking and interactive learning. We can work together through essay questions, readings and general concepts to develop analytical skills. This includes clear, structured and highly analytical writing. Students will also develop stronger speaking and interview skills.
