About Henry

I will work with you to find out which content/areas you feel you would like support in during a free consultation session, and tailor any sessions afterwards directly to your needs and areas of interest. I also have a focus on exam technique. I will make sure that you are prepared for each style of question and know exactly what the examiner expects from you. This is the best way to make sure that you are as relaxed as possible going into the exam and can pick up as many marks as possible. A typical hour-long session will be focused on a specific topic. I will go over the key details and anything you are unsure on. I am also happy to include details outside of the specification (for essay subjects) so that you have more knowledge to bring into longer answer questions to achieve the top marks. In the latter part of the lesson we will apply this knowledge to past exam questions to practise technique and timing to ensure that you are well prepared. You will then go away with exam questions to practise which will be marked with specific feedback. I charge £18 per hour of contact because I will make each session unique and create resources to aid your learning. I will also mark any pieces of work that you complete in the week. £8 of the fee is dedicated to this process of planning lessons and marking, whilst the remaining £10 covers travel and teaching time. Online sessions will be discounted at 10%.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Henry. I'm from Sheffield, I'm 20 years old, and I'm a third-year student at Durham University studying Philosophy. I have A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Religious Studies and have volunteered in the classroom and worked as a private tutor in the past. I have tutoring experience, particularly working with students aged 14-18. I have worked mainly with students who are aiming to bring their marks up to a pass (4-5/C), but do have some experience working with students aiming for 8-9/A*.
