About Conor
I am a final year student at Queen's University Belfast, studying BSc Mathematics with Extended Studies in Europe. The first two years of my degree were spent in Belfast, while the third I spent in Madrid studying as an exchange student in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I have two years of experience in tutoring GCSE Maths and Further Maths, and I therefore understand exactly what is expected of students at this level and how to heighten their Mathematical prowess to get them the grades they want.

When I begin working with a student, I start off by asking if there are any particular areas in the subject that they are having difficulty with. I then try to understand exactly what the root of the problem is and work with them on that topic or area until they feel that they understand it fully. I feel that a great deal of teachers speak at a level that is 'above' their students- they hurriedly explain a topic then expect their students to grasp it immediately, and then begin to elaborate on the topic without having ensured that their students properly understand the fundamentals, leaving the students confused and scared to ask questions in case they appear to be 'behind the curve.' I always ensure that my students have a firm grasp on the fundamentals and the actual theory behind the topics on their curriculum before moving onto applying this knowledge- and I strongly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question!
