About Ksenia
I am a final-year Biochemistry Student at Imperial College London. I specialise in stem cells, regeneration and ageing; cancer; and medical glycobiology (the study of sugars). I have extensive laboratory experience, research proposal design, personal statement tailoring and participation in national olympiads. I am inspired to help students find joy in science like I have found it in the past!

Length of the lesson: 50 minutes, flexible to extend it if required.
Experience: During my research internship I have volunteered to teach visiting high school student the basis of RNA work. I have structured a three-day course, consisting of theoretical lectures and laboratory supervision. This proved to be successful, as my student obtained a pure sample by the end of the course.
Teaching methodology:
It depends on the end goal of the request:
1. To prepare for exams: identify the weaknesses, assess the reason for the difficulty of understanding and identify gaps in basic knowledge. Prepare an entertaining work plan to explain the relevant concepts. Carry out weekly testing to assess information retention. Learn exam techniques through practice of past papers.
2. To spark interest in a student: showcase the importance of chemical concepts for our daily life, body and interaction with the environment. Importantly, tailoring this information to the specific interests of the pupil.
