About Ayla
I am a vocal teacher with 15 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. My teaching approach combines technical training with a deep love for musical expression, helping students build both skill and confidence. I work with singers of all levels, from beginners to advanced performers, tailoring each lesson to their goals and abilities.
My style integrates genre training, ear skills, harmony, improvisation, and music theory, providing a well-rounded foundation for every student. I emphasize healthy vocal technique and expressive performance, ensuring that each singer develops their unique voice. Lessons include exercises for pitch accuracy, breath control, and vocal flexibility, alongside creative exploration to nurture musical individuality.
I guide students in interpreting songs thoughtfully, connecting emotionally while maintaining technical precision. My voice lessons methodology is designed to help students develop strong technique, healthy habits, and expressive performance skills. I focus on key areas like proper breathing, vocal health, pitch accuracy, and confident stage presence.
For the Suzuki Student, I emphasize playful exercises, ear training apps, and structured practice routines that strengthen pitch recognition and musical memory. Lessons encourage emotional connection to each song, helping them express feeling while maintaining control and clarity.
For the Orchestra Member, I focus on blending, harmonizing, and interpreting music within a group setting. Techniques include breath support for sustained phrases, dynamic control, and exercises for matching pitch with ensemble members. Performance skills are developed through mock rehearsals, sight-reading, and collaborative singing activities.
Both approaches incorporate vocal tracking tools and apps to monitor progress and build consistent practice habits. Improvisation and creative exploration are encouraged to deepen musical expression. I tailor exercises to each student’s level, ensuring growth in confidence and technique.
