Techniques and Teaching Methodology:

1. Personalized Learning Plans: I assess each student's current skill level, learning style, and goals to create customized lesson plans. This ensures that each session is tailored to meet the unique needs and aspirations of the student.

2. Hands-On Projects: Learning by doing is a core principle of my teaching methodology. I incorporate real-world projects that not only engage students but also provide practical experience with the technologies they are learning.

3. Interactive and Engaging Sessions: My lessons are interactive, with a focus on active participation. I use live coding sessions, pair programming, and code reviews to foster an engaging learning environment.

4. Incremental Learning: I break down complex topics into manageable segments, ensuring students build a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced concepts. This scaffolded approach helps reinforce understanding and retention.

5. Regular Feedback and Assessments: Continuous feedback and regular assessments are integral to my teaching. I provide constructive feedback on assignments and projects, and conduct periodic assessments to gauge progress and identify areas for improvement.

6. Utilization of Modern Tools: Leveraging tools like GitHub for version control, online collaborative platforms, and various coding environments, I ensure students are proficient with industry-standard technologies.

7. Encouragement of Problem-Solving Skills: I emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills through coding challenges and algorithmic exercises, preparing students for real-world scenarios.

Typical Length of a Lesson:

Each lesson typically lasts between 60 to 120 minutes. This duration is optimal for maintaining focus and engagement, allowing sufficient time to cover new material, practice coding, and address any questions or challenges.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:

With over 5 years in the software engineering industry, I bring practical, real-world knowledge to my tutoring sessions. My role at Tunga involves mentoring emerging software engineers, developing tailored curriculums, and guiding them through their learning journey. I hold a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin, graduating with a second class upper division.
I am proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, Redux, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and Material-UI, among other technologies. My experience includes roles as a Frontend Developer at Cloutra, Sterling Bank, CoLab, and Cypherdevs Technologies, where I developed and optimized complex software solutions. I am in the 94th percentile for JavaScript proficiency as rated by Pluralsight from a Google Scholarship.

Who Are My Lessons For:

My lessons cater to a range of skill levels, from beginners who are just starting out in software development to intermediate and advanced students looking to deepen their knowledge and skills. While my primary focus is on young adults and adults, I am open to working with highly motivated teenagers with a keen interest in software development. Ideal for those who aspire to become professional software engineers or who are preparing for coding bootcamps, technical interviews, or academic courses in computer science.
