About Ashley

I’m Ashley, a surgical registrar specialising in upper GI surgery. However, I am passionate about teaching, and have worked in medical education for more than 10 years, alongside my clinical work.

I know the stresses of medicine, having been through it myself, from application to medical school, to the years of studying and placements, to postgraduate life and the challenges faced as a medical career develops. I want to make your medical journey stress-free and successful.

I hold a PGCert in Medical Education, alongside my medical degree and a further degree in Biomedical Science. I am also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.

I have experience working with aspiring medical students, students at medical school, and junior doctors through one-to-one teaching, mentoring, interview preparation, and exam preparation. Topics can include anything from anatomy and pathology, to interview technique and practice, to medical ethics, to helping you write a personal statement that really shines.

I am particularly experienced at one-to-one teaching, where I tailor my approach to an individual’s learning style, knowledge and goals.

Having progressed through medical school, postgraduate training and surgical examinations myself, I understand the challenges faced by aspiring medical students, those at medical school, and early-career doctors. I provide supportive, practical and engaging teaching that builds both knowledge and confidence.
