About Helgaardt
I am a fully bilingual University student with a deep passion for the structure of the Afrikaans language. My background in the Kumon system has taught me that mastery comes from disciplined repetition and a clear understanding of fundamental rules. I am interested in teaching Afrikaans Home Language because I want to help students appreciate the logic and beauty of the language while achieving the high marks required for university entrance. I use the same structured, high-intensity approach in my language tutoring that I use to succeed in my own advanced accounting degree.

Afrikaans Home Language is more than just speaking the language; it is about mastering the complex "boublokke" (building blocks) of linguistics and literature. I teach Afrikaans using a Structural Framework. We move away from "guessing" the right word and toward understanding the strict rules of STOMPI, word order, and tense changes.
Whether your child is in Grade 5 learning the basics of "sinbou" or in Grade 12 analyzing complex "voorgeskrewe" (prescribed) poetry and novels, I provide a clear roadmap. We focus on the technical mechanics of Language Paper 1 and the critical analysis required for Paper 2. By understanding the underlying logic of the language, students gain the confidence to express themselves creatively and technically.

Details
To provide a focused, high-intensity learning environment with digital grammar tools, all tutoring is conducted Online-Only. This ensures zero travel costs and allows for nationwide access to premium Afrikaans instruction.
Primary School (Grade 5–7): R175 per hour.
High School (Grade 8–12): R200 per hour.
Free Introductory Session:
I offer a free 45-minute "Taal-Oudit" (Language Audit) via Google Meet. We will review the student's current understanding of sinbou (sentence structure) and begrip (comprehension) to pinpoint exactly where the mechanical logic is breaking down.
Booking & Payment Policy:
To protect your dedicated time slot and maintain consistent academic momentum, sessions are billed upfront in monthly blocks (4-week packages). This commitment is vital for mastering the complex "boublokke" of the Afrikaans language.
Cancellation Policy:
I value professional transparency. While payment is upfront to secure the slot, I do not charge for sessions missed due to illness or emergencies. Your credit will simply carry over to the next rescheduled session.
