About Matthew
Seeing students play confidently after weeks of practice is something I never get tired of. During my 11 years of teaching experience, I have guided young learners and adult students through lessons that are supportive, practical, and enjoyable.
I encourage students to take their time learning each technique because strong basics make advanced skills much easier later. Through steady practice, students improve bow control, intonation, rhythm, tone quality, finger placement, and musical expression with growing confidence.
Every student has different goals, so I adapt my teaching to suit individual learning styles and interests. Whether preparing for performances or learning as a hobby, I provide honest feedback, encouragement, and support throughout the learning process.

Learning the violin takes patience, and every lesson is designed to make that journey enjoyable. Students learn through demonstrations, guided practice, and carefully chosen exercises that build confidence while improving technique in a calm and supportive environment.
Lessons cover posture, bow hold, finger placement, bowing techniques, intonation, shifting, vibrato, rhythm, sight reading, ear training, tone production, music theory, and performance skills. Musical pieces and practical exercises help students improve control, coordination, and expressive playing as they continue learning.
Regular feedback, progress reviews, and home practice guidance help students understand where they are improving and what to focus on next. Whether preparing for concerts, examinations, auditions, or personal enjoyment, lessons support steady development with clear learning goals.
