About Jerry
Hey there! My name is Jerry and I am a dedicated orchestral/chamber musician and teacher in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. I completed my Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where I was the Concertmaster of the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, and received the J.C. Van Hulsteyn Award in Violin while studying under Herbert Greenberg.
As an educator, I have been teaching privately for over 10 years now and have had the opportunity to mentor in the US, Italy, and China. Many of my students are in the various Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras, and some have occupied principal positions in the Potomac Valley Youth Orchestra.
***I have recently started teaching adult students as well, so any age is welcome!

My teaching method is tailored to you depending on various factors such as prior experience, time, personal life, and goals. If you want to work hard at it and score an audition, I will guide you step-by-step and carry you in the right direction! If you simply want to play for the joy of making music with others, I will find opportunities for you to play with people for fun! Although I am classically trained, I have performed in other genres such as pop and jazz, so I am open to teaching those as well.
