About Noah
Audio is my passion, whether music or spoken word. I know the process of audio production from the technical side and the performance side, and I know the importance of bringing out the joy in every song, voice over, and podcast.
Working together, you'll get to learn from my decades of experience as a storyteller and creator. Rather than a cookie-cutter approach, I'll help you find and polish your own unique voice. With Joy of Voice Over, you'll stand out in the voice acting field by being true to yourself, and finding the joy in every project!
Every person is different, and every artist will have their own unique voice to bring to the mic. Coaching voice acting gives me the chance to cultivate individual voices and help them bloom into joyful artists!
I've been involved in the performing arts for most of my life. I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from New York University, which is where much of my storytelling education comes from. I've been involved with audio performance for over a decade, including several years of engineering, directing, and editing audio for my clients. My work on the audio drama Powder Burns has been recognized by the Audio Verse Awards in 2015 with a Best Audio Engineering award, and in 2017 by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences with a Voice Arts Award for Outstanding Storytelling, Best Performance.

My students range from podcast hosts to panel moderators, with projects from audio books to audio dramas.
You want to find someone who can speak the performer's language. If you're someone with a strong acting background already, look for someone who understands that mindset, as well as voice acting (ie: remember that your proscenium is now the size of your mic). If you're just starting out, make sure you find someone who you don't find intimidating, and who can teach you the fundamentals, as well as the more advanced stuff later.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
We all learn in different ways. So for some folks, technical direction is what they need (take a longer beat after this sentence, try speaking across the mic, etc.). For others, less concrete direction is better (remember when you had a similar experience to this character? Let's access those emotions). Each of these methods (and anything in between!) is perfectly valid, as long as it makes sense to the student. If you know going in that you're more responsive to a particular type of coaching, that can make things easier early on.
