Music is my passion. It is the air I breathe. I have been in music all my life.

I have also been teaching nearly all my life. We can talk about that part another time.

I started by helping others less advanced, and it was a natural move to teaching for money, and then as a professional educator.

I learned piano and then violin in a traditional setting.

I am Suzuki teacher trained as well as certified in Music Together.

About the lesson

This would depend on the age and where the student is, in terms of beginning, intermediate - advanced.

I have taught students from as young as 3 years old, to a retired Paster who was in his 70's, and had always wanted to learn to play an instrument.

I have learned that to interview the teacher, and visa-versa to learn a bit about each other, assess how well you and the teacher communicate, to establish the goal of the teacher, and for the teacher to establish the goal of the student is vital for a positive, successful relationship.

Review your personal priortities. Where does music fit into your schedule? where does practicing fit in? what is your short time goal? [ 1 year ] // medium term goal [ 2- 5 year ] ~ ~ can you see yourself still involved with your instrument? is that too far out for you to think?

And some of these questions need to be age and grade approprate.
