About Dakota

I understand that every person has their own way to study, and that every person can learn something and be able to retain it for later. Sometimes it just takes some practice, patience, and maybe some fun to get there! I also believe that no matter how complicted or difficult to subject, there is a way to figure it out, it just might take a couple tries.

I believe my tutroing skills to be adaptable for my students, and that each student has their own way to go about it. I don't want to lecture you, or make you feel like you'll ever be able to understand the information. I want you to be excited to learn and to understand the topics that you find most frustating or difficult.

I try to learn how my students are able to retain information the best and use that to better their tutoring sessions. Sometimes just having a a fun way to study can help you remember or understand things better than rereading a text or sturggling with homework.

Now little bit about me- I am a Veternary Technician, graduated from Carringto College in California and was on the Dean's list for all of my terms. A lot of my clinical training experience was with an Emergency and Internal Medicine clinic. I just recently graduated from Carrington but I have been dabbling in veterinary medecine and science since I was 8 years old (19 years ago!). I am already starting school to finish my BS in Veterinary Technology and to study/prepare for my Veterinary Technician Internal Medicine Specialist exam to become a Vet Tech IM specialist. I also have certificates in Basic and Advanced Life Support in veterinary medicine from Cornell Univeristy as well.

Before I went to school for veterinary technology, I studied evolutionary biology and ecology at Jacksonville Univeristy and I studied photography in Sacramento, CA where I sucessfully published 5 photos and had my own private viewing during an art walk and ran my own photography business. I have been tutoring fellow class mates and other students sicne 2012, when I first started my post-secodary education journey.

I have an associated degree in Veterinary technology, certificate in BLS/ALS for veterinary medicine, I have worked with specialists from multiple areas such as oncology, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, rehabilitation, cardiology, and surgery.
