About Navin

Hi,

I have been a very good swimmer, waterpolo and tennis player. Started when I was around 7 or 8 years old and have participated competitively at school, college and Army levels. After playing for almost 20 years I have been now teaching/coaching for 15 years. I 'm presently teaching tennis private lessons and am a swim instructor at a Park District where I teach group and private lessons. I am exceptionally good with beginners as also experienced players as I am a patient , experienced and encouraging coach.

I like my students to progress at a comfortable pace keeping learning the right technique as most important factor. I love to teach kids and adults alike and my students are from 3-70 years old. Thanks

I used to play with my friends and give tips on how to improve their game. They asked me to start coaching their kids as they noticed that I am patient teacher and could give good tips for learning the game.

I have been a player and coach for many years now.

About the lesson

I like to teach beginners the basics of the sport and then progress with them at a pace they are comfortable with, teaching them the techniques and intricacies.

For tennis I teach them forehand, backhand, servicing, volleys and footwork in the first few sessions

For swimming, I teach floatation, breathing, any or all the four strokes depending on what student wants to learn. I also am a coach and referee for waterpolo.

I am teaching beginners (from 2.5 years old kid to 55 years old adults) and school students with some experience.

Look for a teacher who is experienced, encouraging and patient with the student.

A parent of a 7 year old kid came to me after the first 3 lessons to say that their daughter who was not interested learning earlier was now crazy about the game and wants to come for lessons every day.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is their aim of taking lessons - just to learn to play, take it as one of the sports they want to pursue, get competitive ...

Navin worked with my six-year-old son, who was a beginning tennis player. He was patient and clear in teaching the core concepts, and kept my son interested - not always easy! We are looking forward to working with him again.
