About Maria

With nearly 20 years in the field, I’m deeply passionate about making Spanish learning enjoyable and meaningful for children. My qualifications, including a Master’s in Innovation and Research in Education, ensure that every lesson is carefully tailored to your child’s unique needs.

At eSpacool, we focus on personalized, interactive lessons that use creative methods like games and storytelling. My experience in bilingual and immersion programs, combined with certifications from Instituto Cervantes, Google, and Microsoft, enables me to incorporate the latest tools, ensuring fun and effective language learning.

I began teaching nearly 20 years ago, driven by my passion for making language learning engaging and accessible to children. My experience spans across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, where I’ve had the opportunity to teach students from diverse backgrounds. My years in bilingual and immersion programs in the U.S. shaped my interactive and inquiry-based approach to education. This journey led me to create eSpacool, an online Spanish school focused on delivering fun, personalized, and effective Spanish lessons for young learners.

Our lead teacher, María Menéndez, has nearly 20 years of experience teaching Spanish to children across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education with bilingual, multicultural, and ESL endorsements, and a Master’s in Innovation and Research in Education. Additionally, she is a certified examiner with Instituto Cervantes and a certified Google and Microsoft Educator. María's passion for creating fun, engaging lessons is at the heart of eSpacool, making Spanish learning an exciting journey for every child.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, we begin with a Discovery Session, a 25-minute Zoom meeting. During this session, we get to know your child through a friendly meet-and-greet and a fun mini-lesson to assess their current Spanish level. We’ll also discuss their learning goals, interests, and preferred styles to create a personalized learning plan tailored just for them. This is also a chance to explore our teaching methodology and ask any questions you may have before starting your child’s Spanish journey!

We work with children aged 4-12, including beginners and those with some Spanish exposure. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, but they all share a desire to learn Spanish in a fun, creative environment.

Look for a teacher who not only focuses on language skills but also makes learning fun and emotionally engaging. It's important to find someone who understands the unique learning styles of children and can adapt lessons accordingly.
