About Caroline

I know first hand the challenges and rewards that come with learning a second language. My goal is to create individualized plans for my students, so that they can learn to better thrive independently. Spanish proficiency opens countless doors of opportunity worldwide!

I enjoy sharing my love for the Spanish language and its many cultures. Seeing my students improve and problem solve is also rewarding- I believe good communication skills will only become more valuable.

I have a BA in Spanish (Iberian Literatures and Cultures) from The Ohio State University ('21). I am also certified in Spanish proficiency by Language Testing International.

About the lesson

My first meeting with a student is powered by active listening. Every learner has different needs and skill sets, and it's my focus to highlight them. Once I have gathered enough information, I begin my personalized plan.

I have worked with a wide range of ages and skill levels, including those with no previous knowledge of Spanish and those preparing for college exams. I enjoy all backgrounds of exposure and find them to be beneficial to my teaching abilities.

I would advise students to look for a teacher who understands their needs, as well as someone whom they can voice their concerns and preferences.

Recently one of my college students shared their grade improvement. Everyone gages their success differently, yet achieving progress in school is something to celebrate!

Students should think about their needs and strengths as if they are on a scale; it's important to understand which skills are related and ask how we can build upon them using positive reinforcement.
