About Miriam

¡Hi future Spanish speaker!

I’m originally from Spain, and I’ve been tutoring Spanish since college — almost four years now on this website! I love sharing my language and culture with students from all over the world.

I think my classes are dynamic and fun, blending grammar with speaking and listening exercises, and I provide tailored homework so you can continue improving on your own. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, I adapt every lesson to your goals and learning style.

I aim to create a welcoming environment where you feel confident asking questions and speaking Spanish. As someone who learned English as a second language, I know it takes time, patience, and practice — but trust me, it’s completely worth it!

Let’s make learning Spanish enjoyable, practical, and exciting — I can’t wait to help you speak confidently and fluently!

I have worked as a tutor since university but I started teaching Spanish while I was living in London several years ago and I loved it. I enjoyed being able to help people who were interested in learning more about the language and the culture.

I completed several courses on how to adapt classes for different levels of spanish and how to develop dinamic exercises for the student.

About the lesson

It depends on the needs of the student. I like to get to know the student first so we can see what works better and how we can organize and customize the classes.

Most of my students have been between 25 and 65 years old. The majority were looking to improve their speaking and listening skills, while many others needed to learn Spanish for their current jobs.

I also have experience teaching younger students, including teenagers, assisting them with Spanish homework and exam preparation.

Try to find a native teacher, always! Someone you can feel comfortable with :)

Perfect! I’ve been taking lessons with Miriam for several months, and she has been an excellent teacher. She is patient, encouraging, organized, prompt, and highly professional. She does a great job adapting lessons to my level while still challenging me to improve. I’ve become much more confident speaking Spanish, and concepts that used to confuse me are starting to feel much more natural because of how clearly she explains and reinforces them. She creates a comfortable environment where it is easy to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling judged, which has made a huge difference in my confidence. Perfect! I have been working with Miriam for about a year and a half now and I have nothing but glowing things to say. Miriam is an awesome person and an even better tutor. She makes it very easy to learn and advance my Spanish because she is very encouraging as well as patient. Her first language is Spanish which allows her to teach the fundamentals extremely proficiently. It also allows her to teach phrases, culture and everything else that comes with growing up in a Spanish speaking country. Miriam is also very flexible when it comes to scheduling because I know my schedule has changed many times over the course of us working together and it has never been an issue. In summary, Miriam is awesome and super personable and one of the best teachers I have ever had throughout my life.
