About Karina

I offer free meet & greets where we can identify the student's challenges, set goals, discuss best services to offer based on needs, develop a lesson plan, and schedule next sessions. From there, we would move forward with one of the 3 services I offer. My rates and schedule are both flexible. Please reach out for more information.

I offer 3 different types of services currently: private tutoring sessions, group tutoring sessions, and assignment review sessions. My services are offered at competitive rates and are flexible to accomodate all families and students.

I promise to be attentive to your student's need, stay in good communication and service them to the best of my abilities. I am passionate about the success of each individual student! For urgent matters, I am always available over the phone by text, call, Facebook message, or email to my students and families, or prospective students.

I am passionate about eduation and success in kids. I think sometimes life can get overwhelming and we sometimes just need a little extra help or guidance in the right direction. I myself have pushed through years of honors and AP classes. I graduated highschool in the top 30% of my class (of 688 students). I graduated with a 3.8 GPA. I was always very involved, including but not limited to Spanish Club, student athlete, leader in FCA, and band.

I am currently pursuing my bachelors degree in Marketing. I am a Sophomore at Baker College. I take online classes in order to keep a flexible schedule. I have previous teaching experience as a Sunday school teacher, tutoring my siblings, and coaching experience. I have an extensive background working with kids and am looking to expand that experience through tutoring.

I have recently started this because I recognize the need for it in our community. I want to share the knowledge I have, become a mentor to these students, and help them be successful. I want my services to be available to everyone as everyone should have equal opportunities to be successful. I have a big heart for helping people and have always been passionate about education.

I was a Sunday school teacher for 4 years, I have been babysitting/nannying for the past 13 years, and I have tutored my siblings in these subjects as well as coached some of my peers. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in marketing. I graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA in 2014.

About the lesson

First, I schedule a free meet & greet session with the student and/or family. In this session we work together to identify the needs of the student, set goals, develop a lesson plan, and plan our next session. For me, this session provides some insight to how the student learns, what some of their challenges are, and how I need to fit my lessons to best accomodate the student's needs.

I have worked with all different ages. Most of my sessions will be geared toward middle school and high school aged kids, but I can take other students outside of this range as well. I have a lot of experience with younger children 2nd-5th grade. I am working with students that are struggling in the subjects I tutor in, students that just want additional help to be successful, and students that want an introductory course to Spanish.

Tutoring can sometimes sound intimidating, but there's nothing wrong with getting help. Be open to working with someone and know that you are not the only one facing challenges and even if you're not facing challenges, getting a tutor can still help you in many different ways. We are here to help you grow, learn, be successful, and achieve your goals!
