About Jeremy
Hello! I’m Jeremy Dickinson, a multilingual computational linguist and language instructor. With over four years of diverse teaching experience online and in-person, I bring a rich background in language education and computational linguistics.
Education & Certifications:
Dual Master’s Degrees in Computational Linguistics and Hispanic Linguistics from Indiana University (4.0 GPA)
BA in Spanish Language and Literature, minor in Linguistics from Stony Brook University (Magna Cum Laude, 3.75 GPA)
TESL/TEFL Certified through Oxford Seminars
Experience:
Associate Spanish Instructor at Indiana University Bloomington from August 2021 to December 2023, responsible for planning and preparing educational materials, grading various assignments, and teaching classes from introductory to intermediate Spanish. Courses taught include HISP-S 105 (First Year Spanish), HISP-S 200 (Second-Year Spanish I), and HISP-S 250 (Second Year Spanish II) in a positive and welcoming learning environment.
Over 100+ hours of teaching English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, both online and in-person to students from all walks of life with different language learning aptitudes and goals.

My approach to teaching language focuses on bridging cultural divides and enhancing personal and professional opportunities through language proficiency. I create a supportive learning environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. I fell in love with language teaching while tutoring my friends and other students in Spanish, Italian and French in high school. From there, I began to teach English both online and in-person, as well as Spanish at Indiana University Bloomington.

I have had the rewarding experience of teaching a diverse range of students from around the world, aged 18 to 60, including those who had limited experience with reading and writing.
