About Miah
CurlyQ Music is a one-on-one vocal coaching business where the student is the main focus of all lessons. I, Miah Wright, have been an active singer for twenty-two years. I've participated in multiple all-state choir competitions (scoring second chair for the state of Delaware), I sing in and travel with multiple singing groups who are still active, aided in providing background vocals for studio projects as well as live recordings, and participated in the American Honors Perfomance High School series at Carnegie Hall. I've taught a children's choir for two to three years at my local church, I've coached two students and prepped them for their Cab Calloway auditions (both got accepted into their desired program), and I've been taught by a group of very skilled vocal teachers.

The typical process for working with a student is basing their entire vocal lesson(s) around what they believe they need to work on as a vocalist. The first lesson/session is question and answer based; I ask the student what their vocal strengths and weaknesses are, and we create a lesson plan around what we discuss and work towards turning that weakness into a strength.
So far, I've worked with school age kids, ranging from elementary to high school. I'm currently beginning to work with full time musicians and active singers who want to perfect their craft for upcoming studio/live recording projects.
For any student who's looking to perfect their vocal ability, be sure to hire a teacher who can adapt and cultivate a lesson plan completely around your needs and can work around your schedule. No one knows what they need for themselves more than you, so it's important that the vocal teacher you hire understands that's it's more so about helping you become a better musician than it is just giving you good vocal practices.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before we have a chance to sit down and talk about what your needs are as a student, think about the purpose you have behind seeking out a vocal coach. What is it about your vocal abilities that you want to perfect? Are their areas that you believe could improve with someone else's help? Are you open to trying methods of singing that you may not have thought about in the past?

Details
My rate is $25 per session, with the first lesson being free of charge. Payment methods are completely up to the student (or parent(s) if student can't pay for the lessons themselves). For example, if the student (or parent) wants to pay the rate after every session, they can do that. If the student or parent wants to pay the rate at the end of the week (assuming the student requires multiple sessions throughout the week), they would pay the rate that way i.e., if a student gets three lessons a week, they have the option of paying $25 per session, or wait until the end of the week and pay the $75 all together. In this day in age, it's more common to do payments electronically, but paying in cash is also an option.
