About Brittany
Hello! Thank you for coming to my page! My name is Brittany Valdes. I have my masters degree in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University and have been teaching since 2015. My goal with all of the singers I work with is to make them a well-rounded singer. This means that we will not only work on the technical aspects of singing, but also performance techniques and music theory. I am a classically trained singer, however, I have been able to apply my classical technique to many different styles of music from pop to jazz to country.
My goal is to make music and singing accessible to everyone. I believe everyone has a voice and it just takes time and work to find it!
I started teaching in college when I was getting my bachelors. My school had a program where we offered lessons to members of the community.
I have my masters degree in Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University.

When I start with a new student, I have them bring a song that they are comfortable singing. Something they know very well. This allows me to hear their voice in a setting that they are comfortable with. From there, I will do some evaluations to find out their range and to identify some things we may be working on. This allow me to come up with a plan of how I want their lessons to be laid out.
I have worked with all types of students and all ages from 5-45.
