About Paul
My goal is to educate students in music, voice, and proper breathing techniques. Music includes classical, theater, and popular genres. Voice includes singing, interpretation, and presentation. Breathing techniques include proper use of the breathing apparatus to produce the best possible vocal sound.
I was asked to take over the studio of a friend at a Parma Neighborhood Studio.
Bachelor fo Music Education, Master of Music, lessons with credible teachers and coaches in Cleveland, New York and London. Forty-two years teaching voice and 45 years collecting recordings of great performances, many of them opera.

I learn what they are trying to accomplish with voice lessons. I ask them if they want to sing me a song. Then we go to work addressing range, breathing, confidence and more. If they do public speaking, I ask what it is they want to address, such as endurance, projection, bouts with laryngitis, developing a more interesting voice, inflection, resonance.
Students from age nine out to 75 and 80. Some classically trained, some not at all. Rock, classical, choir, musical theater, I teach all the routines of good breath management and teach them to read music.
I suggest that they study voice with someone they feel comfortable with and whose ears they trust. Someone they respect and want to learn about singing from, not necessarily from someone who plays the piano well.
I adjudicate Solo & ensemble Contest for Lorain county every year and we are encouraged to give a mini lesson when time permits. I like to show the young singer how much they are holding their breath when they are nervous and when we unhitch the restraints, this loud voice comes rolling out!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should address questions about whether the teacher can teach the style the student wants to learn, or perhaps the languages they want to learn as well as the songs/rep they want to master.

Details
I ask $25 for the first half hour from adults and give a break in pricing as we get to hour lessons @ $40/hr. It is less for students in school.
